Changed mine up a bit as I needed all the length he could give me. I had a smaller version of this, 6 or 7 inches, and it was great, but I'm going on a long journey soon and I don't have to turn my body to operate the phone while driving in unfamiliar areas, especially since I am not a great driver and can easily get lost. Anyway, this worked easily for my needs. Pros: - This combination of gel and suction cup is still one of the best combinations. To the point where it gets really annoying trying to pry it off the dashboard to change its position. - Just the right length to place next to my steering wheel so I can use my phone with ease. - I still love the phone holder clip, the best design is here, make sure your phone won't go anywhere. Cons: - It was an issue with the other, the wire is a bit flimsy that when pulled all the way out heavier phones like the Samsung Note range let go of the hand. limp. It's even worse since the gauge of the wire is the same, so they give you this weird arm brace. The gel pad will leave traces on your window and your dashboard may damage it because it is always wet. So I strongly suggest you take one of those plastic washers with 3M glue and stick it to the dashboard first and then to the washer to protect the dashboard. Adhesive mounting plate Arkon 80 mm for car dashboards. GPS disc for smartphone dashboard. The foam tape will not damage the dashboard (I've only tested it on plastic dashboards, the adhesive is strong enough that it will most likely damage the leather/vinyl and possibly the natural wood dashboard). To solve the loose wire problem, I took an old wire hanger I bought at Walmart, cut the wires (used two segments) to the length of the bent part, and used tape and paracord to tie them to my arm. This made it very stiff, removed much of the wobble that used to get in the way of this phone holder (never too obnoxious, but it was), and it easily supports the weight of my Note FE with a protective case on it. - For discs, don't go down less than 80mm as I think the suction cup is about 70mm when fully depressed, leaving room on the disc for gaming. Tilting the crest of a 2009 CRV and tilting it toward me was fine, but the closer it was to me, the more it interfered with my hands while driving and made turning difficult. In summary, this did exactly what I needed after a few of my typical tweaks. Definitely recommend this, especially if you have a misfire like I did on my Honda CR-V.
