They make *amazing* soap dishes because the soap dries instantly and doesn't get slimy - your soap lasts longer. They are soft enough to wash tender vegetables straight from the garden. I have one in the shower to wash my feet and it's like a massage! They are also easy to clean and odorless. I put mine in the dishwasher when I got them and they've held up great. Maybe I don't use them as oven mitts because they're flimsy, but maybe for getting hot food out of the microwave. I think they could probably make good non-slip coasters, just maybe not on very heat-sensitive surfaces. They also make good coasters. They have so many uses, which is why I bought this 9 pack. Hourglass shapes have longer "protrusions" than round ones. I think they may be smaller than the measurements shown in the photos but the rounds were correct. They are not suitable for washing dishes (although they may be suitable for pre-washing if you use a dishwasher) and I don't know why they are sold for that when they are great for so many other uses!
