Review on 💡 APC Desk Mount Power Station PE6U21W, U-Shaped Surge Protector with USB Ports (3), Desk Clamp, 6 Outlet, 1080 Joules in White by Jay Maryland

This looked like a good way to put the main switch on the table with a tangle of wires underneath. The mount was also pretty solid. I use it daily to turn off my monitor/computer/speakers to avoid low power consumption. I've used 3 of these surge protectors before and all 3 failed the same way (2 devices with USB A + USB C and 1 device with USB A only). The switch has failed on every unit I've had - they all started making electrical noises, buzzing, crackling, or shorting out after about 4-5 months of daily use. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement after my first purchase. Then the replacement failed a few months later. I then bought a 3rd unit thinking maybe I was just unlucky and it also failed in the same way. These things appear to have either very poor quality parts or terrible production/quality control. Despite good customer service (they sent a replacement after my first purchase) I don't want to risk my electronics on this junk.
