Accurate ratios in many dimensions

My grandfather made me a set of blocks as a child 65 years ago by cutting several blocks into two by four. loved her. The problem is, two by four isn't really two inches by four inches, so it's not an exact ratio. Fast forward to 2021. Now you can buy wood block sets that are actually THE EXACT RATIO in many sizes. And the manufacturers have STANDARDIZED the sizes so the kits can be mixed and matched! WOW! The iPlay and Pidoko sets should be combined into one super duper set, and the blocks fit together perfectly. Timfuis blocks can be added as they also use the same dimensions. Unfortunately, Timfuis blocks are lacquered, while iPlay, Pidoko, Melissa, and Doug are bare natural wood, which is a tough requirement in our house for babies who put things in their mouths. Melissa and Doug's barewood set is amazing! Much, much better than I expected! They are much larger (I think that's what "standard" size means). They go perfectly with my old two by four blocks. The other three sets have smaller blocks, but they're definitely not tiny, just smaller. And if the child is old enough not to put the blocks in their mouth, the lacquered Timfuis blocks are fully compatible with iPlay and Pidoko blocks with just the right sizes. exact proportions to each other.
