I used to only buy the WD brand but the last 3 I bought broke down shortly after purchase and have had very little use. I bought this one in 2017, it didn't even take a month before I started noticing problems. I was only using it as a file backup so I backed up my files once a month, unplugged and kept them. I thought I just got a bad one and ordered a few more, bad idea, same problems with one, the other one still works but I see the same errors happening. I tried formatting it's just a bad drive. I have a 1TB Toshiba that I've had for years, only a portable one that I carry in my purse, I swear it's been abused and it's still working great. I'll find it and buy some of these. I don't know if it's the size or what, but the newer WDs just aren't reliable. I'm trying to back up a 6TB hard drive I bought 6 months ago because I'm hearing it failing. I have a 10 year old WD that still works, I don't use it due to its age but it works. What happened to VD? I don't trust your CDs anymore.
