They work, but it takes a lot of work to make them work. The new design has no clamp ring for the bare wire.
Judging by the instructions, the product has changed over time, but the instructions have not been updated. The instructions mention putting the stripped section of wire under the "core ring" and the unstripped section under the insulating wings. The problem is that there is no "core ring". There are only two insulating wings at the very end of the terminal, making it difficult to crimp both the unstripped and stripped portions. It looks like the new version of these clamps are missing the "core ring".
