Review on 🌪️ EUREKA Whirlwind 4870 Vacuum Cleaner Hose by Jennifer Wible

This is the second time I have replaced the hose. As others have pointed out, it tears where it stretches. The tape lasts for a while until the crack propagates, then it's time to order another one. Splicing a new hose is too complicated and time consuming for most people, so it's easier to just order a replacement. The product description says it is an OEM part but the one I just received is clearly not the same as the original or even a two year old OEM replacement. The fitting that connects the hose to the vacuum cleaner is now made of hard plastic rather than the more flexible rubber. That means the airtight seal at that interface isn't going to be that good in no time. Also, the same fitting is slightly larger than the previous version. This makes it very difficult to install a new hose as the plastic will not deform. I had to use an offset wrench to turn the tube to the locked position once I could fully insert it into the vacuum socket. An ideal replacement would also be a little longer as this hose will stretch a bit when placed back on the vacuum cleaner for storage. It would also give you longer access to the hose.
