What a great upgrade for this stupid rack! Now my wife can open the heavy hood of our 2019 CX-5 with ease. Although no instructions are included, it took me 15 minutes to install. I have attached photos. Hood mounts can go in two directions. I chose to install them so that they raise the hood to the same height as the stock hood. First I mounted the lower ball pins and then mounted the gas pressure springs. I then selected a hood mount that matched the ball to the top of the gas strut on the first strut, and then did it on the other side. By swapping the two brackets, the bonnet opens a little higher. Again, I can't believe Mazda didn't include them in my signature model.
