Hydraulic Jack Hood Lift Supports Shocks Springs for Mazda CX-5 2017-2021 - HIGH FLYING Car Accessories Review

First off to be honest it looks like a very easy install but I didn't receive any instructions and nuts to attach it Missing those below Rivets, I underestimated the ease of assembly. I wouldn't have to watch video reviews from other customers to figure out how to put it together. Otherwise they appear to be well constructed and offer good value for money.

The hydraulic bonnet struts are very strong and support the heavy Mazda CX-5 bonnet very well. Just in case, I kept the original support rod. My only issue was that the instructions were not included. I was grateful to the previous buyers for the reviews and photos. Due to the lack of installation instructions I would give 1/2 stars if I could. Otherwise, don't hesitate to get this for your Mazda!

Part of the attachment was defective, a screw was broken and could not be tightened or loosened. So I had to cut it off and it scratched my wing. So now half the equipment is installed and the rest is bad. WTF. Not happy with this crap. I hope to get this new hardware and finish the installation. Does it cost me some touch up paint I had to buy so it's already a lot more expensive.

It's just a 5 minute installation with a 12mm socket and screw lock. Wonderful. Given that the Mazda CX-5 tries to, or actually presents itself as, a little luxurious, you'd think its hood would open with air struts, but it doesn't. For the price of these struts, this is a very valuable component for a car. The CX-5's steel hood is heavy, and these supports make it lighter and more stylish. Say goodbye to the stand. Easy to install. Very easy.

Just installed them on my 2017 CX-5 last night following the photos in other reviews. As others have pointed out, nuts attached to a small hatch are extremely useful. My only complaint is that the shocks felt VERY stiff on the first open/close tests I ran. I would STRONGLY recommend placing two hands evenly across the front of the hood when you first pull it down, just to avoid the possibility of the hood bending if you grab more of one side or the other. What a great upgrade for this stupid rack! Now my wife can open the heavy hood of our 2019 CX-5 with ease. Although no instructions are included, it took me 15 minutes to install. These struts have enough strength to open the hood and keep it upright. It is equally important not to use excessive force when closing the hood, so as not to strain it. Installation couldn't be simpler, no drilling required. Another customer provided good photos of how to use the nut holder on the underside of the fender. I tried to install these hood struts yesterday but I had to stop. I was able to install one side, but when I tried to install the ball stud, the nut and bolt threads were different. I tried to turn away, thinking I hadn't threaded the bolt well, but when I tried to thread the bolt into the nut (which is on the end of the metal feeler gauge holding the nut) I still had the same thing Problem. The first thing I noticed when I brought my new car home from the dealership was when I opened the hood. The support bar was hot (even with the foam padded part where you have to touch it), as was the hood nose, which I had to hold on to to get the bar in place. I don't like how the support rod goes into the hole in the hood as it looks like it will dent the outer skin.
