Easy to install 'if' the electrician installed the fixture correctly. However, some "glasses" (like mine) can rest directly against the ceiling joist, making this a real problem. Not impossible, but it does require a lot of custom trimming. PS I feel like there is a paradigm when it comes to isolating non-IC rated lamps. I replaced the old 65W incandescent bulbs with equivalent 11W LEDs. The heat difference is significant. I can leave these LEDs on for hours and change the bulb without even turning them off. They are warm but not hot. I haven't had any problems with the insulation around the recessed lights as long as I got rid of the incandescent bulbs. .
