Large pencil set

I'm new to working with colored pencils but lately I've been dabbling with different art materials and wanted to try them. I have some pencil drawing experience and have recently started using watercolors, gouache and watercolor pencils. The set comes in a very nice metal box. Each of the 3 pen trays has a plastic stacking tray, each with side handles to make it easy to pull out the trays. Pins are also easily removed from the slots (press on the bottom of the pin). Each pencil has a unique color code so it's easy to try on if you have the patience. The color selection is very complete and definitely more than anyone needs to start with. However, it's great to have all of these options. Some of the pencils are sharpened to a "plateau", but it was very easy to sharpen them to the right point with my electric sharpener. The kit comes with a basic sharpener and an eraser if that's not enough for you. I can't compare them to other colored pencil sets, but I can say that I really enjoy drawing with them. They draw clean and feel pretty smooth. You can work on the details while the sharp points seem to be holding up well. You can see some of my extremely amateurish sketches of this on an inexpensive sketchbook. I'm sure it would have looked better if I'd had better technique and/or used better paper. Overall I'm looking forward to having fun with this set.
