My old activated carbon filter left visible particles in the water even after a month of use. When I installed this new filter, the water was initially cloudy (normal for ANY filter). But after about 20 seconds of water flow, the water became clear. I have a water heater and filtered water is a must. So now that I can't see any particles in the water, I don't have to worry about this heater anymore. If you think you don't need a filter, fill a clear glass with water and take a look. Do you see particles floating around? Are you bothered by these particles used for drinking and cooking?
