Review on Pentel Fude Brush Extra XFL2F by Heather Shaw

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Normal brush, but.

I bought this pen because I was looking for a pen that was similar to the Pentel Brush Pen but thinner for finer detail. Like the Pocket Pen, it has a nylon brush tip, which gives it a brush-like feel rather than the felt-tipped brush pens you find elsewhere. The ink is in a black barrel covered with a red stripe between the barrel and the brush that needs to be removed, after which the ink will flow freely to the tip of the brush. This pen can draw a finer line than a pocket brush. but not much thinner. The ink flow isn't that great either, often producing very fuzzy or fuzzy lines unless I'm drawing very slowly. This can create some interesting effects, but it doesn't work very well for crisper, cleaner lines. I tried squeezing the body of the pen where the ink should be to increase the flow but I think I ended up breaking part of the pen around the brush and the white still works fine, come on now the leek ink on my hand. It's not the mess that worries me, it's the waste of ink. They do not sell refills for this pen like other brush pens. I believe you could refill the keg with your ink when it runs out if you manage to open it again. In general, I prefer a pocket brush pen because of the better ink consumption and because you can buy refills for it. The Fude brush isn't a bad brush, but it's not the best either.
