7 YEARS LATER + MY ONLY AMAZON REVIEW

I've been using this mattress for 7 years now (that's 70 human years) and it still works! A few weeks ago my wife inflated this mattress with sharp rocks and branches and I realized that this bad boy was probably one of my best Revain purchases. I'm a self-proclaimed gear freak and have spent significantly more on various sleep systems - Thermarest, Alpen, Big Agnes, Intex, Klymit - and yes I can beat that thing with a $200 top camping mattress. . But that thing costs $30! Sometimes you can find it for $20! I use this mattress primarily for camping and outdoor adventures where weight is not a concern and power is limited. For the price, this mattress can't be beat. Pros: It costs $30 and I don't think it will go away any time soon, no electricity required to inflate, very handy if you like a firm mattress. Small form factor. Cons: Modesty - no insulation, no built in pillow, hand pump. However, this is easily remedied by placing a pillow and sleeping bag on top of the mattress. Once dirt gets into the foot pump, it stays there forever. A small price for a bomb-proof mattress. Bottom line: if you have to shell out $200 for a modern sleeping pad, then by all means go ahead. However, if you're a value-driven camper enthusiast looking for dependable comfort and durability, dollar for dollar, you can't beat this mattress.
