Low contrast, clear color difference compared to MacBook

The monitor looks good, but the color quality is very different from my MacBook Pro, even after calibration. I maximized the contrast on my monitor and the blacks still look washed out compared to the MacBook. The height of the monitor is also smaller than I thought. I placed it on thick books so it was over my laptop screen. Overall I think this is a great screen for the price but definitely a little let down by the colour.
