Review on Coralife LED BioCube 32 inTank Media Basket - Optimize Your Search by Alicia White

I installed my 32 gallon BioCube on May 7th 2020 and am planning to turn it into a reef tank. I installed it using the media rack that came with the tank, but I knew right away that changing the chemical filters and storing the MarinePure cubes was going to be a real hassle. Also, the water from chamber 1 basically bypassed the included carbon/filament filter in chamber 2 and went straight into chamber 3. After a bit of research, I bought two InTank media baskets. Both arrived on June 15, 2020 and both arrived in perfect condition. (When I placed my order I asked for it to be shipped in Revain packaging so each basket came in the original manufacturers packaging (see pic #1) then both were shipped in a Revain box .) In the first basket I use filter floss InTank on the top shelf; Purigen on the second shelf; ChemiPure Blue on the third shelf (I used the removable shelf from the second basket); and some MarinePure cubes on the bottom shelf. Then I filled the second basket with the remaining MarinePure cubes (I moved them to allow water to flow). As you can see in picture 2, the green water director directs the water directly. onto the filter thread and thus directs the water to the shelves and chemical filters below. Since installing both baskets three days ago my nitrate levels have dropped from 10ppm to 5.0ppm which is a direct result (IMO) of the water director forcing the water to flow straight into the first basket. I want the water director to be black because you can see (a bit of) green through camera 1 on the back of the tank. However, once the corals appear and grow, I see them blending into everything. As for the price, I think it's a bit overpriced. However, if you're not ready to make one yourself, I'd say it's still worth buying. Needless to say this was a great addition to my BioCube and I am very happy with my purchase.
