I have recently started using the Dexcom G6 system. I had an attic over a SIMPATCH G4 many years ago that I tailored to fit the new model. First of all I would like to say that the old ones were like new even after over 3 years of inactivity in the closet. It's finally time to order them for the G6 and I'm incredibly happy so far. I guess I don't use them like a lot of people do and they work great for me. I use the Skin Tac Wipe directly on the G6 adhesive first before gluing it. At the moment I am not applying SIMPATCH, I am waiting 5 days for the G6 glue to peel off. I then apply another Skin Tac Wipe directly to the skin and over the G6 Sensor Tape before finally applying SIMPATCH. I never wear mine longer than the recommended 10 days (I'm lucky to have a good job and good health insurance) but with this method I can definitely wear them longer than 10 days if needed. If you have trouble applying Dexcom (or if you HATE when the adhesive peels off like I do) I recommend SIMPATCH using this application method.
