I was glad to see a cheap mercury lamp, but literally on the third day it completely stopped working. When it stopped I turned the lamp off for more than 30 minutes to see if it took a minute to cool down like mercury lamps can. I know the bulb works because I put another bulb in and it worked and I know it was rated for the wattage of the bulb so it was literally a problem with the bulb itself. Not worth the risk!
