I bought this specifically because it's a 13" (not 10") ring light so I could mount it on my digital SLR -Camera can use. mainly as a focusing aid at night or in clubs. I usually shoot with electronic flash, but when the environment is too dark, my autofocus works well. .No. This light is the perfect size for my needs, and because it's powered by a USB power cord, I don't need to be plugged into an outlet (like my 18" ring lights).
