Underrated camera. Canon camera quality, Canon lenses, smaller pack

I bought this camera to replace my 9 year old Rebel XSI dSLR DSLR which has served me very well with over 70,000 shots. I considered getting another DSLR, but found that I left the DSLR at home in favor of a smartphone due to its size. I decided to try the M5 to 1) give myself an ultraportable option with a 22mm pancake lens and 2) use all the EF and EF-S lenses I have (with an adapter). I considered the M6 but decided it would be too radical a step away from dSLR to do away with the viewfinder entirely. So far I think my decision is justified. In fact, the M5+22mm Pancake is extremely portable and I carry it everywhere I wouldn't otherwise. I put it in a small fanny pack when I ride my bike. With the adapter I can use my existing Canon fixed focal lengths. While pricey compared to its Sony counterparts, you're paying more for access to Canon's ecosystem and pedigree. The Canon color is simply better than the Sony color. Canon lenses are simply better and cheaper. The touchscreen focus is amazing. The touch-and-drag focus when using the viewfinder is amazing. The ability to actually focus manually is amazing as this camera has a 'peaking' feature where the focus areas are shown highlighted in red. I don't think any of the DSLRs can do that. Yes, the camera has the flaws people are talking about. Battery life is less than what I'm used to from the Canon Rebel range. Autofocus can be slow or yawing in low light (but the MF peak focusing feature makes up for this). The flash can be suppressed rather than a thin wash. But I don't pay attention to these flaws to get a small/nice package. The WiFi/Bluetooth integration is great too.
