When installing the filter I used 3/4" adapters to PEX in the inlet and outlet ports. I have which uses Usual 3 turns Teflon tape I installed it with the ability to bypass the system to change filter cartridges When I closed the bypass valve and opened the normal flow valves it filled with water and when it was full the inlet and outlet filaments began to leak. I immediately put it back into bypass mode. I called Georgia support on Monday and spoke to Sean. He suggested replacing the block but as the plastic filaments in the block were not damaged at all , he did also suggested using 8 turns of teflon. I laughed. He said it sounds crazy but it works. I was like what the heck am I going to try in. After 8 turns, the threads were barely visible on the brass adapter, it did. He was very careful about screwing it up completely. I made the other side and pulled it out of the bypass. I let the system flush for a few minutes, then turned off the water and checked for leaks. NO DROPS! The system has been running for a week now and there are still no leaks. The most pleasant thing is pure, clean water with a wonderful taste and smell. Chlorine is no longer present. The water pressure or flow rate did not change at all. I'm so glad I called Sean. Thanks iSpring!
