Review on Toshiba X300 4TB Performance & Gaming 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive - CMR SATA 6.0 GB/s 7200 RPM 128 MB Cache - HDWE140XZSTA by Leanne Steltz

I may have just received two bad hard drives but they both had the same overly loud read/write issue, much louder than normal for a hard drive - and definitely wouldn't walk my data trust one of them. Of course, all spinners are noisy to some degree, but even my roommate noticed how noisy my computer sounded after installation (and since I'm using it in a common area, the noise was particularly annoying). I replaced a pre-installed 1TB Toshiba drive so I had no problems with Toshiba drives before, but after two failed drives I can't recommend these particular drives. They haven't had any issues according to other reviewers, so I'm only adding this review as a warning to others that they may have to return it. I returned both and bought Western Digital which installed clean and to an acceptable level. Noise.
