Review on 🍞 Breville BTA730XL Bit More 4-Slice Toaster in Brushed Stainless Steel by Megan Edwards

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Nice looking but otherwise disappointing toaster

The Breville BTA730XL looks good but doesn't even toast terribly. First off, if you think you're going to be using this toaster to toast a long slice of bread, think differently as there are no heating elements in the middle meaning you'll end up with burnt toast at the ends and all white be. and not toasted in the middle. Also, many toast strings don't light up, sometimes entire strips (feels like they're too tight). There seems to be a lack of quality control when it comes to heating elements. If you have short slices of bread and are careful to place them around the edges and you end up with one of those with filaments that light up/heat up in most places, this could be a good toaster for you. By the way, I also tried a slightly cheaper BTA630XL. It performs much better when toasted than the BTA730XL, but its plastic casing leaves a lot to be desired (especially with reviews claiming that it will yellow over time and wear out all the buttons/text). The BTA630XL is suitable for toasting long dishes as the heating elements cover its entire width.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • A lot
