something has to be done so that the small pillows on the sofa don't stick to the new carpet. I'm heavy so I need to be abused. They're fairly durable and offer a lot of cushion so they're less likely to damage carpet. on a glider chair they are almost not even noticeable (the carpet is a regular pile 3/8"-1/2"). You have no glue. hard plastic only. They don't slide easily, so don't expect that.
