Bought recently, mechanically working properly. I thought it had an automatic feed (i.e. enter your receipt and the machine starts)? but you still have to press keys to scan it. The main reason I bought it was to scan receipts for use in Quicken. I thought of a seamless integration, but the reality was far from it. Intuit did not allow Neatworks to use its QDF license. The Neat Works software does an excellent job of recognizing receipts. reads VAT lines etc. but can only export in QIF format. Quicken Deluxe 10 only credit card, bank accounts to work in QDF. Ideally, they should be in the same format. We could import from Networks into Quicken and the receipts would find their place in any appropriate account where they could be registered. At the moment it's just a dream. Now this device is just a scanner doing a wonderful job. NeatWorks' support was not outstanding. Your posted solution is to create a cash account in Quicken and export the entries there. So the entries will be correct, but in the wrong account? Uhhhh what do we do to reconcile the account? Stupid. It looks like I can match the digital copy of the receipt to the record in my Quicken, but no OCR. Yawning.
