I am 72 years old and have had severe pain in my knees walking down stairs for several years and more recently I have had pain associated with the development of arthritis. My friend suggested taking 2000mg of this supplement for 10 days and then 1500mg after that. So I decided to follow her advice and give it a try. I swear after 10 days I had no more knee pain. One night I took a full 2 gallon watering can and a 1 gallon bottle of water down the stairs at the same time and held on to the railing expecting knee pain - no pain! Since then I have had no more knee pain and it has gotten worse. Later, through some research, I learned that Ester-C helps build joint tissue and can relieve arthritis pain. This appears to be true as the stiffness in my finger has decreased since I started using this supplement. I take several supplements but to be honest I haven't come across any other supplement that gives results as quickly. I believe in it, and it's good for so much more than just the immune system. The only downside I can think of is the size of the pill. It's huge and sometimes it takes me a few tries to swallow it. I also give this supplement to my 98 year old mother, but for her we grind it up and add it to her supplement shake. UPDATE 11/24/18: I've been taking Ester-C for 2 months and my knee pain has completely gone as well as the tremors in my knees I had when climbing stairs. I've also noticed that my finger joints are no longer locked when I get up in the morning and the stabbing pain I used to have in one of my fingers has gone. I can't say that this supplement helps with arthritis, but I've definitely had an improvement in my joint pain and blockages in my finger joints. UPDATE 10/18/19: I've been taking Ester-C for a little over a year and the benefits described above are still evident. Although I still use this supplement for my 99 year old mother who grinds it up as a vitamin supplement, I had trouble swallowing the giant pills. So I found another brand that still has 1000mg but in capsules. The capsule helps me too, but I don't choke on swallowing it. I hope this review was helpful to you.
