I think this is new and improved. But only time will tell if it lasts. What about the block itself? First, it has a SHORT power cord. The old one had 4 feet to the power box, a 4" power box, then 4 feet 8" to the end of the link. That's almost 9 feet of cable. This is only 4 feet 8 inches. (not counting the useless 7" extension cord - see below) Had to hunt for an extension cord or cords. Doesn't reach the outlet the original PS plugged into. THEN - This comes with a 7" extension from a straight fork supplied to a 90 degree fork. Remove and discard the extension cord. It's too big and won't fit properly for a test connection. I plugged it in but no power. Then I touched it. Power - no power - Electricity - no electricity Throw that thing away At least the straight ending fits better So far the main test: How long will it last?
