Updated review: My first unit has about 1 day. Then he started parking the car a few seconds later. It tried to restart 3 times but always left the doors unlocked. I contacted support via email (no weekend support). They sent me a replacement very quickly. The sad thing is that after installing my new module, a new problem appeared. Yes, this time the starter motor started the car perfectly, but now it turned off my key fob and the door knob opened the locks. I couldn't get into the car while it was running. I had to use the manual emergency key to gain access. When the door was opened, the car stopped immediately. There was no 30 second timeout to get in and take a break. I tried to reprogram the module using the reset function but to no avail. I ended up sending the device back to Revain for a full refund. There are no residual problems in my car so it's just a waste of time. No hard feelings towards Start-X. I appreciate the support they have given. It was probably just bad luck on my part. I might consider trying them again but not sure yet. ------------------------ --------- ------ ----------- ------------------------- --------- ----- ----------- -------- The only instructions are a card indicating you need to watch a YouTube video for physical installation. Although it helps, it would be better to have an actual owner's manual since you'll be upside down under the dash. Second, there will never be a moment in the video or on the map that says it's now safe to reconnect the battery. It starts with you watching a video and double clicking on the start button. It's also unclear whether you should actually try to start the car with the brakes on or not (the answer was no brake pedal). The video does not give any instructions on how to mount the box under the dashboard, nor does it provide any information on cable routing. The strap is also about a foot longer. There's no point in using that huge cable when it only has to be 6 or 8 inches long. Programming takes about 30 seconds and works without any problems. I would give 5 stars if the instructions were real. The functionality is perfect. It worked on the first try. I love that it works with the manufacturer's remote and that you do NOT have to send it in to be programmed. Would I buy it again? YUP! and i could do this for my girlfriend mazda 3 assuming it still works after a month or two.
