Trying to use the sink mirror is tiring, neck and back pain trying to lean forward. That's where it comes in, the extender brings the mirror out to you, and with the magnification you can actually get a good view. The edge lighting is nice, but I find that the lighting above my sink is a better color and I can see better. Now, as with most other suction cup mounts, the mounting location should be clean and smooth. And about every few weeks, I take the mirror off, wipe the stain with a damp cloth, and put it back on. Otherwise it will eventually fall off, which is normal with all suction cups.
