Very cool fenders

I was looking for a new set of fenders. The ones I've had for years have started to wear out around the edges etc. I had to replace them, but I'm also the type of person who loves a quirky twist on their functional parts. These mud flaps with folding handle and no side handle meet my aesthetic/functional needs. I used the smallest and largest splatter guards on my cast iron cookware. Both sides covered both pans perfectly. Now I've read a lot of reviews that these shields don't work. People still get fat spatters. Yes, you will still get fat splatters! The fender is a mesh, liquid/oil slides through the mesh. Barriers are designed to REDUCE splashes, not prevent them entirely. And it also depends on the depth of the cookware used. My small skillet doesn't have as much depth, so after frying sausage and eggs in it, there was grease splattering on the stovetop. The large one was used to cover my 5 liter Lodge fry pan. The splatters barely touched the splatter guard and there was no grease on the stove at all. But again, it has more to do with how deep the pan is. If you want to cook greasy food and you have absolutely no splashes of fat, you can just cover the pot with a lid. Period. I am delighted with these fenders. Highly recommended.
