Bad wiring from gear

I paid the mechanic to install the wiring along with all the other maintenance items for my kid's car and there was a misfire in the engine. This was a week after her professional installation and less than 100 miles. Not the kind of cable I expected. Now I have to keep buying new cables and again paying someone to do the work.
