They reduce case vibrations transmitted from fans to the case to almost zero. Even at high speeds nothing happens. In practice, that's only a few decibels down, but I definitely notice that I no longer feel any vibration on my desk when the fans spin up to high speeds. also makes editing really easy, which is great for reasons most people will probably never be interested in. However, there is a somewhat significant potential downside. If the mounting grid on the case is too thin, they won't hold the fans properly. I mean they can slip into the grooves that fans are usually screwed into. They definitely won't fall off, but they can't stay exactly where you want them without another little support. Honestly, it's just a pity that they can't be installed on radiators. That would be very nice, but I'm not sure how to implement this.
