I'm new to crocheting so keep that in mind. I tried crocheting a few years ago but the yarn kept falling off the hook and it was a worsted yarn. Now I love working with bulky yarn and have tried a few crochet hooks to no avail. This hook is deep enough for thick yarn. I wish the hook had a little more grip (less slippage in the deep part of the hook) but I think it's due to my lack of knowledge on how to properly maintain tension. The grip is soft and comfortable to hold unlike the metal grips I have. They will be donated. Overall happy with my purchase.
