You need that for your clutch! I paced the snow and ice with a sore knee and was absolutely secure in my footing. The person who wrote that they are weird on the sidewalk is wrong, they are still comfortable. I'd say if you run them on dry pavement they won't perform as well after about 6 months of minimal wear, but come on, things do wear out. They are SHARP and can hurt your fingers when you put them on so be careful. I've had a few shoes like this before but I love them the most as they have the best grip and make me feel safe walking in any weather.
