Works. He keeps some things. You got what you paid for. While it can hold my BLU Snowball mic, which is quite heavy, there's an "edgy" feel it may not be able to handle. But he didn't let me down. This is a good solution for many needs. But my need has shown its limits and why such a stand is not for me. This device telegraphs (carries) any sound from the surface you connect it to. In my case, this is my table. If I hit the table, even lightly, it is transmitted to the microphone and reflected in the sound. The solution to this would be to attach it to something else where it can still hold the mic where you need it. Another feature of this stand are the springs. When you click (or hit) it, the "spoing" sound is also transmitted to the microphone on the stand. Note: I also have a couple of standard mic stands and camera thread adapters. Use one of these with this and a Go Pro or webcam and you can glide through the air without a tripod, just like anything else you do. A possible easy solution to place the viewpoint in the middle of the model environment where you can't put a larger camera. Three stars from me just because it didn't live up to my expectations, telegraphs ring through the entire stand and feels like it was built for low cost.
