I am very satisfied with this product. These CLEAR steps are just what I needed for an open wooden staircase to prevent pets and family members from slipping and falling. They are CLEAR and the white backing is deceiving as if the tread looks white and I almost sent them back as I wanted to see real oak treads not white treads. Don't worry, the tread is made of durable textured TRANSPARENT plastic that looks great on hardwood steps. It also doesn't slip in shoes, stockings, or barefoot, and it's not too abrasive on your skin when you walk on it, so pets with their delicate paws are fine. The steps come with a heavy duty rubber roller to ensure you have good contact with the floor/step and the adhesive side of the step. The trick to applying is to peel off the first inch of the white paper backing so you can lay the sticky side down and line it up before making contact, then gently peel the free end completely to reveal the adhesive on the floor/ step so that it peels off and seals at the same time. Then use a squeegee to remove air bubbles for full contact. You can mark the steps with a pencil or tape to position them correctly as it is difficult to remove and will also affect the adhesive side. You can't beat the price or the quality of the product as other options were way more expensive. I would definitely buy them again.
