I have over 10,000 hours on this machine! It worked great. I have only used the UV function a few times when my wife was sick or got sick. We love the white noise it makes even at night. If your dial has stopped working (i.e. the dial just spins without a click) or the device is stuck even when it's off, there's an easy way to fix the device, but you need to go inside. make repairs out of it. You simply remove all the screws behind the filter (except the ones holding the metal UV shield), all the screws from the bottom (even under the rubber pads) and two screws from the top plate. Once you separate the outer parts you can see the electronics, switch box and dial. The breakout box is the small black box at the top of the device. The dial is on one side and there are 4 wires on the other side. You will likely see the junction box with the contacts separated. The two halves of the junction box were only glued together with a bead of adhesive at the factory, fatigued and fell apart. If you have one like mine you will need to remove the junction box (2 screws and knob) and assemble the internals. You will need to use a small screwdriver or knife to align the pins when reassembling the stem. Make sure that the recesses on the junction box and the spigot match. I used small zip ties to hold the junction box together. After that mine works fine again. Ready for another 4 years if the engine lasts that long.
