I really wanted this to work. don't do what he has to do. It's like Disney had some good artists and designers when they created this product, but couldn't find experienced programmers to get it to the finish line properly. I set up the Circle device and went to bed. The next day I was greeted with "Circle not found" and unstable internet access (some devices were completely blocked, others had very slow internet, others had intermittent access). I had to reload Circle to make it visible to the app again, but then the app prompted me to go through profile setup again (and there was no way to skip this step, even though my old profiles were still there). Couldn't figure out why some devices just weren't allowed to be connected, because useful technical information is nowhere visible and access is only possible through a limited mobile application. I've tried changing the settings (profile, filters, etc.) but to no avail. I rebooted all parties involved - even my trusted router, which hasn't rebooted in months. I should note that I'm a professional network administrator and have experience in network programming, but I haven't found a way to get all my devices online other than disabling the circle. (This might work better when built into a router, but this product costs money since it requires a subscription for feature parity with a standalone device.) If you look at the activity history, it's clear that this is an unrefined version is: Background activity is incorrectly classified into different categories. Websites are only displayed by name (e.g. "google.com", but without details) and sometimes even cryptically shortened (e.g. "google." instead of "google.com" ). Other websites are only displayed by IP address, so searching by name is left to the user as homework. The technical support seems to be good, but they can only help with a faulty product. The rest is "sorry, that's why it doesn't work". Terribly disappointed. I was looking forward to the emergence of a central control point for parental controls and learning about the automation part. I'll probably choose the UniFi solution instead. Last but not least, Circle only manages 2.4GHz connections. Who only uses 2.4 anymore? Edit: According to the support answer, Circle handles all types of connections, even if it only connects to a 2.4GHz network.
