(updated review) Retevis contacted me right after reading my review and offered to replace the faulty microphone that came with my kit. I ended up getting a replacement for the G headsets I bought, but I'm very happy with their customer service. They also specifically addressed my initial observation of earbud size. They are working with their designers to find a solution to update the product in the near future. It's nice that they take the time to read reviews and try to improve their products. Upgrading my rating to one star because of their excellent customer service and also because the sound in the headset is really very clear compared to other headsets. Once they improve the design of the headphones and add a volume control, they definitely deserve 5 stars! These were the first headphones I bought with my Retevis RT22 radios. My team and I tested each headset upon arrival. Everything worked fine except for one where the microphone picked up no sound at all. I had to put it to my mouth so someone could hear. So I think one is defective. The sound quality of the tube headset is excellent. Much better than the in-ear headphones I bought afterwards. The voices were very clear so I was pretty happy with that. I also like the low profile design and look of these headphones compared to the bulky black earbuds that fit on the back of the ear and hang down. The reason for only three stars is due to a few things. First, they don't have an extra volume control like other Retevis headsets I've bought. This may be because they have a different design that cannot accommodate this. But even at the RT22's maximum volume, they were too quiet to be used at a loud event like a gala concert. This is obviously an issue with the volume being emitted by the radio itself, but it would be great to have a volume control for that! But it's better to have a noise-canceling earphone. Which brings me to the second issue: the size of the earbud. It's not big enough to effectively block out outside noise. I had to put pressure on my earlobe to block out the noise and hear better. If they included additional sizing options that you could turn off (like headphone manufacturers do) to fit different ear sizes then these headsets would be awesome and I would give them 5 stars. As a result, I had to order a different type of headphone. for my team at a gala concert for which we bought radios. The main reason was that everyone was shocked by the in-ear headphones that could get dirty, although I planned to clean them and even distribute them to each person for personal use. The second reason was that the gala had to be very loud and we needed something to give us more volume. So I bought another Retevis design which I don't think has the clarity of these headphones but does have an extra volume control to boost the sound. I definitely recommend them unless you're using them in a very noisy situation. , although. And especially if they decide to include different headphone sizes in the future. Then it's child's play!
