3.6L Pentastar Thermostat

Okay first let me say I have a 2014 Dodge Charger SXT package. I made some major upgrades to my car. Chassis, engine tuning, exhaust. Soon to reload. So I looked for a thermostat to keep the engine cool. There aren't many options there. The standard thermostat is 203°F, and summers get pretty hot here on the North Carolina coast. I found this thermostat and although it's for a 3.6 liter jeep the body is the same. I installed Tazer Gen2 in my car which unlocks all SRT performance pages and data tracking. After installing the thermostat, it was time for the test. At speed it maintains a temperature of 185°F. At WOT the temperature rises slightly to 187-189°F. But when it breaks away from Wot, it falls back to 185°. In the city (traffic light to traffic light) it stays at 185°. When stopped, it heats up to about 201 °, but as soon as the fan turns on, it drops to about 190-192 °. When moved again, it cools to 185 ° in 20-30 seconds. So the main thing is that it stays below 190°F at speeds up to WOT, which is the main reason for that. The engine now stays an average of 15-20° cooler than normal. On my K&N CAI, the intake temperature is around 85-90°F with an outside air temperature of 75°F. That is approx. 60-80° cooler than with the factory box. It is recommended to purchase a Diablo Trinity Sport Tuner to reduce the load on the cooling fan. Mine is set at 190 degrees and I got this setting from Ripp Superchargers, a company that will put a supercharger in my car. I am converting my car into a custom SRT6 which will have more horsepower than a 425-450hp 6.4L engine. I'm guessing 475-500 hp. Now I have 315 hp. (standard 240-245 hp). I recommend this in several ways to anyone who wants to do mods and needs a cooler engine. Hope this all helps.
