I bought this for a home automation project that needed a simple 3 x 4 numeric keypad for user input. The style of the product got me into it. I was fine with soldering my own wire but due to the design of the product it became tedious and I almost melted the plastic on the case due to the iron clasp. Even after everything was soldered, I was still willing to try and salvage the device. However, when I started programming the device I couldn't figure out the correct pinout as it wasn't listed. After trial and error, figuring out pins and pressing buttons, I came to the conclusion that the device wasn't worth the hassle. This product should come with some sort of pinout and be able to solder on the other side of the board to avoid damaging the plastic.
