That's how my air conditioner died at the beginning of the summer. The guy who was supposed to replace him lied to me twice. My old blanket was in dire need of replacement. I took this on with the faint hope that I would be cool in my house, which is 10 degrees hotter than the sun's surface, below, with the full expectation of sleeping completely naked, with no blanket, with all the fans in the house turned up my body when the thing didn't live up to the hype. Boy was I wrong. With the ceiling fan on and the window open, I crawled under this blanket. First of all, the feeling of coolness on bare skin is indescribable. Even 15th-century British royalty never tasted anything so soft. Real shame about the kid's ass. Second, I immediately cooled to almost 0 degrees Kelvin. I don't know what this blanket is made of, but it must be magical (Hogwarts, I'm still waiting for a letter). I had to turn off the fan, close the window, and turn on the stove under this thing in mid-July. I'm afraid to try the hot side. If it's as effective as the cold side, then there's a 90 percent chance I'll spontaneously explode. This duvet is super soft. I may have exaggerated the cooling effect, but it was more noticeable than I expected. Solid 5/5 star product. Exceeded my expectations.
