Works like a regular fan. Even with ice inside, some cooler air blows. I'm going through a heat wave right now and I'm in a studio with no AC or AC. I covered the windows with blackout curtains and placed them in front of my regular floor fan, thinking this would be of great help. It is perhaps only half as powerful/cooler than a conventional pedestal fan. so it doesn't cool my whole apartment. The rest of the apartment is hot as ever, only cooling down as the air hits it and then warms up. It can also easily overflow as the overflow line on the side is not clear and all the writing on it is not in English. If it overflows, it will collect water all over the place, so put it on a towel when filling if you can't read the fill line. I also expected it to be bigger, but it's about the same size as a regular toaster. Maybe just a little higher. It's probably only about $30, not $60. This is best for those who already have air conditioning but probably just want to keep their space cooler.
