I bought this model as a Christmas present for my son who is 13 and has collected (and outgrown) many lego sets from the market. He really likes this way of building models! As a parent, here are the reasons I highly recommend this product: 1). Challenging but fun: This model is one of the most difficult to build (compared to other UGears models), but it's enough for a 13-year-old if he likes to do things alone and loves activities. this requires mental abilities. Compared to his peers, my son has a well-developed ability to read instructions independently. The instructions for this model are relatively complicated compared to the Lego models, but he pulled it off in the end. The pieces can be a bit tricky to put together at times (requires waxing, the right amount of power, precision, etc.), which actually creates a greater sense of accomplishment. So far he has worked on it for 8 hours and finished about 3/4. And more importantly, gears allow the model to move, which is a lot more fun than Lego sets. The child learns how it works. As such, it offers many of the benefits parents seek, including learning, independence, and problem-solving. This is quite a fascinating and exciting project for a child of this age. Parents could work with the child which is equally fun (I built a lighter model with my daughter who is 9 years old, very rewarding and valuable time together). Model quality: good fit, good quality, good design, parts could be thicker and stronger, but I think it may cost elasticity/flexibility, which is important to connect parts without glue or other additives.3) . Great Customer Service: Our son broke a few parts while assembling this model. I wrote to the seller hoping he could replace these parts and rubber bands with the correct size. They reacted very quickly and surprisingly sent us a completely new set. It was like a second Christmas for my son. So don't worry - how wonderful it is when you experiment with something!
