Don't install with a bear hand
I installed one of these bulbs in one of my cars about four months ago and it still works. I just installed another one on my second device and expect the same from it. Some have complained about the short lifespan. This is not my experience. Many people do not know that they must not touch the UV lamp with any part of their body. If you hold the lightbulb with unprotected hands, the oil on your figures will greatly reduce the life of the lightbulb. I use bubble wrap to protect the lamp during installation. That way, the lightbulb never touches my hand or any other part of my body.
