Review on Mugen Rev CPU Cooler Support by Darren Anderson

I'm blown away by the cooling performance to noise ratio. Even at 100% fan speed it's not what I would call loud, it's the fan sound that makes it quiet. It's not one of those "quiet" fans that still hum or hum (noctua nf a-14 comes to mind). Anything at or below 70% is also nearly inaudible, and I'm only talking about it if you actually hear it up close. It's totally inaudible when you're listening to your computer audio instead. The cooler itself has excellent build quality and the ease of installation is refreshing compared to most CPU air coolers. It even comes with a very nice full-size Phillips screwdriver with a magnetic tip, which I thought was a nice touch considering most coolers that come with one cost upwards of $80. In terms of performance, this thing dissipates a lot of heat, which is a really amazing amount considering it really isn't too much. I lost 10-15 cents compared to my Cryorig H7 numbers which were already pretty good and this thing isn't much more. I'd say it's on par with Be Quiet! in terms of noise and cooling. Dark rock 4 for. 48 dollars? This is stealing and the corners are literally not trimmed; not as an assembly, not in the packaging, not in the supplied accessories or in the instructions. The only "Be quiet!" about it is an all black finish which makes it a little nicer and even then the Mugen looks better in person than it does in the photos. I'm currently using 9600k @ 5.1GHz 1.36V and don't go above 60c in games. My stress test is no higher than 70s, and I'm not a fan of the aggressive profile at all. I'll probably grab a second suitable fan (yes, they come with extra fan clips, of course) to try the push/pull and see what happens, just for fun. I will update my review when I do this. FYI, this isn't one of those "OK, I have my item and it works, so I'm giving it 5 stars" ratings. This thing is actually a true 5 star product. I can only recommend that.
