I've been using a cursive handwriting called Chancery Cursive for over 50 years and these pens are every bit as good as any I've used including nibs. I used to write checks and take notes in a quantum chemistry class with a similar pen I made by grinding down the nib of a wide-nib fountain pen. The range of pen sizes in this set covers everything I need from fountain pens, including using other fonts when I'm away from home. PLEASE NOTE: These pens are designed for wide tip calligraphy such as B. ALL types of writing from ancient Romans to early Renaissance and many styles to the present day. These handles form a wide line when pulled or pressed directly, and a thin line when moved from side to side. THESE PENS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR COPPERPLATE which use a pointed tip pen.
