This is my first Pelican product! I'm a traveling tower technician, constantly in and out of hotels. Which I highly recommend, not only for their superior shelf life over traditional ice, but also because your dishes won't get soggy or filled with ice water. These ice packs were only able to freeze 60%, but that's only because of the cheap hotel freezer I used. Space: Due to the concave lid, this cooler even fits a little beyond the fill line. .Shelf life: If the refrigerator and the contents are properly pre-chilled, you can expect 3.5 to 4 days. You can extend this with ice packs that have a freezing point of 28 degrees or lower. The pelican-shaped ice packs I use not only fit well, but work surprisingly well. After being there all day, I pulled out the ice packs that were frozen to them.
