I really like this light. I have others from another company that are a few dollars cheaper and don't change colors. It looks healthier, so the quality seems better. I purposely wanted the light to be dim as my bloodfin tetras don't seem to like the blinding light of the others I've talked about, in the same style, just blue and white. That way I can gradually dim it at night so the fish don't go crazy. Also in the morning I can do the same. It will turn on the color you turned it off from. this. at night I first switch to dark blue and then tone it down a bit. In the morning the blue turns on and I can increase the brightness as it memorizes from the previous night. After turning on the blue light, I usually switch to the white light. The white light is slightly "dimmer", less intense than other lights in this style. Yes, it may have a tiny blue tint compared to white, but it could also just look like it since it's slightly darkened. The ONLY question I asked myself that I didn't see in anyone's answers. I hope the seller will answer me these: I read that you can turn it on via a small "transformer" on the cord and read someone's answer that way you can change the colors. But I can only assume that you can turn it on and off that way too? (I haven't tested that theory as of this writing) Just thinking about how confident I am that a reliable light will outlive the small remote control it comes with. By the way, I've seen other people ask questions about installing it in your tank without a lid. I once put another one I had on my 2.5 gallon and forgot about it for a while. There has been a lot of condensation on it, I would advise against this as it is not airtight and water can seep in and affect the wires. Great light again!
