Update: Due to low battery life, the process of returning to the first collar began. They sent us a new collar and I started using it as soon as I sent the old one back. Guys I'm devastated to report this because I love this product. The second collar kept breaking. I would put it on a dog and he would fly ten feet and he would start squeaking and get electrocuted. We let the battery fully discharge in the hope that it would reset something. We went to our property in the village, set up a collar, 12 satellites, a wide open space, and it never had the same boundary point. Of course we will send the replacement collar back and keep the collar short with a short battery life. I'm not sure my Shepard is safe at home without this. After a few escapes from Houdini, I felt like I was running out of options. The last time he escaped, he missed 3 hours. I swore it wouldn't happen again. I bought 1 wireless fence on the market, it didn't work. Then I bought two from Revain and couldn't get either one to work. After speaking to several people, they said that we must have some kind of disorder that is preventing them from working. what would we do We have 2 acres of land surrounded by several fields and beyond that are hundreds of acres of dense forest. It was important to us to let him run free with other dogs (and do his toilet chores in the farm's fields). But with other animals it is not always possible to pay attention to the eyes. I found this and watched the setup/use video. After reading EVERY review and watching the video multiple times, I decided I had nothing to lose by trying it. This thing is sent from God. It stays within the perimeter. My worries haven't gone away, but until now when I look for him, he's always around the house. I love love love this thing. Well, with that said, here's what I think you should know. 1. Turn it on before putting it on your dog. Sometimes"calculated". It starts working and vibrating immediately after connecting to the satellite. I just turn it off and restart. This process works for me. 2. Battery life is short. We put the collar on for about 4 hours every day. (If he's in the fence and we're around, we don't cling to him). This collar will only last us 2 days before it has its last legs.3. It is big. For a 75lb GSD puppy, it will fit with a tactical collar. If you have a small dog, it may be inconvenient.4. There is no protective cover over the keys. Dogs, who are often rude around the house, can pierce buttons with their teeth or something. In short, it works very well for us. I would return it and try a new one to see if the battery life would be better on another. But after 4 weeks of freedom I see no point in taking it away from him while we wait for the collar to be changed. We can't wait to get to our campsite and give him freedom there too. PS if the manufacturer is reading this please contact me regarding my battery life options.
